Have you been asked to round up when you make a purchase at the Zoo? This year you can round up for conservation! When you round up for conservation, the proceeds go to the care and keeping of our African penguins and African penguins in their natural habitat.
African penguin populations in the wild have decreased nearly 98% in the last century! Wild African penguins face threats including plastic pollution, over fishing, human encroachment, and oil spills. The good news is we can help! Through AZA we have participated in the African penguin artificial nest program. These artificial nests have been tested and approved by the penguins, and have been implemented this year! We love working to help save African penguins!
