ZooCrew is a teen volunteer program for 13 to 17 year olds that runs from June 5 to August 25. Individuals accepted into the program will have the opportunity to work with many different departments within the zoo. Activities will range from assisting our Seasonal Educators in the Contact Yard to giving a hand to our Custodial staff by cleaning habitat windows and pathways.

Who & When

Program run time: This program will run from June 5 to August 25.

Age: All individuals applying for this program must be 13-17 years of age, as of June 5, 2026.

Shifts: Participants can work half or full days.

• Half-Day Shifts:
  • 9:30am to 1:30pm (AM shifts)
  • 1:00pm to 5:00pm (PM shifts)
• Full-Day Shifts:
  • 9:30am to 5:00pm (PM shifts)
• Half-day shifts are given a 15-minute break. Full-day shifts are given two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch.

Deadline to Apply: Applicants must have all documentation turned in by May 9, 2026 to be accepted into the program.

Teen Volunteer Requirements

• 13-17 years old, as of June, 2026.
• Fully completed application with three references.
• Able to attend an orientation date before start date, TBD.
• Able to commit at least 40 hours of volunteer work within the three-month program.
• Provide a record showing an up-to-date Tetanus shot.
• Provide a record showing a negative Tuberculosis test within 1 year prior to the starting volunteer date.
• Wear a designated uniform (shirt provided) while volunteering.
