Chix Who Mix
Thursday 17 July 2014, 05:30pm - 07:00pm

Looking for a cool way to spend a warm evening?  Four area arts organizations are teaming up to bring Chix Who Mix to the Children’s Zoo at Celebration Square for an evening of FUNdraising.  Fifty local Chix will serve up a banquet of beverages, including cocktails, non-alcoholic fruit and fizzy drinks, coffees and more.  The chixologists are creating the delightful drinks, and the $25 ticket will include beverage tasting and snacks.

Chix Who Mix will take place Thursday, July 17, 2014, 5:30 – 7 p.m. at the Zoo, which is located at 1730 S. Washington Avenue in Saginaw.  This first annual collaborative fundraiser is in support of the Children’s Zoo at Celebration Square, Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum, Saginaw Arts & Enrichment Commission and the Saginaw Choral Society.  Attendees will vote for the “People’s Choice Beverage,” “Best Themed Drink” and more.  Tickets can be purchased at the Children’s Zoo of Saginaw or by phone at 989-759-1408.

While Chix Who Mix is an over-21 event, the zoo and family-friendly 2014 Zoosical community concert featuring Ah Tempo! and the Saginaw Elite Big Band is open for all ages. Bring your lawn chairs and stay for an evening of great music. Food is available for purchase on site.

The Chix are mixin’ for the following organizations:

Children’s Zoo at Celebration Square – The Zoo, now in its 85th year, is home to more than 150 animal residents. In 2009, the Zoo took a step toward a higher standard for animal care by becoming accredited by the Association of Zoo’s and Aquariums (AZA).

Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum – The region’s only hands-on, play and learn destination designed solely for children infant to age 12 years. Children and families

will discover a constantly changing array of activities with nine galleries tied to the Michigan school curriculum.  School field trips, scout troops, church groups, birthday parties and family gathering are all welcome at the Mid-Michigan Children’s Museum.

Saginaw Arts & Enrichment Commission – Founded in 1986 on a simple and powerful premise: that the arts enrich lives, expand minds and form a vital thread in the fabric of a community; the Arts Commission promotes and supports artists and artistic organizations in the area.

Saginaw Choral Society – Now in its 78th season, the 80+ members of the Choral Society entertain and excite audiences with classical, contemporary and popular choral concerts at Saginaw’s historic Temple Theatre. Artistic Director, Glen Thomas Rideout, leads one of Michigan’s most respected and accomplished choral organizations.
