Coffee and Conservation

The Zoo may be closed for the season but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a lot going on at the Zoo! Join us for monthly meet-ups to learn about local and global conservation issues and chat with locals in our area. Talks are linked on the dates below, as they are recorded.

Dr. Shannon Cerveny will talk about what YOUR Zoo is doing to support conservation and how you can get involved.

December 14, 11 AM

Sarah Colman will talk about the American Zoo and Aquarium Associations’ SAFE (Saving Animals from Extinction) programs.

January 17, 10 AM

The Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB) will tell us how they are saving wild African penguins in South Africa!

Learn about the Kirtland’s Warbler Association with Bill Rapai.

Book Club – “Under a White Sky” by Elizabeth Kolbert. Please read the book prior to coming and join us for a lively discussion about what you thought of the book!
