2010 Zoo Camp ProgramsFuture Zookeeper *Ages: 5-7 years When: 9 a.m.–3 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday, July 13th and 14th Activities/Theme: Zookeepers wanted! In this exclusive 2-day camp, meet Zookeepers to learn the skills needed to care for animals. Campers will get a chance to practice some of what they learn! Reptile Rendezvous *Ages: 5-7 years When: 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Friday, July 23rd; or Thursday, August 5th Activities/Theme: Slither on in for an opportunity to learn all about snakes, turtles, tortoises and more. This 1-day camp features animals from around the world, and campers will meet some slithery friends! Learn where they are from, what they like to eat and what makes each one special. *Ages: 5-7 years When: 9 a.m.–3 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday, July 27th and 28th Activities/Theme: Track wild animals from all over the world right here in Saginaw! In this 2-day adventure, learn all about animal habits and habitats, and how the Zoo makes our animals feel at home. Feathery Friends
*Ages: 5-7 years When: 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Friday, July 9th; or Friday, August 6th Activities/Theme: Bird is the word for this 1-day camp with our feathered friends - and we do have a variety! Learn what makes a bird a bird, and discover their fascinating differences. Junior Zookeeper
*Ages: 8-10 years When: 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Tuesday - Thursday, July 6th - 8th Activities/Theme: Zookeepers wanted! Take Future Zookeeper to the next level and learn about all the jobs at the Zoo including the exciting job of a Zookeeper. Campers will get a chance to practice some of what they learn in this 3-day camp!
Go Grrrrrreen!*Ages: 8-10 years When: 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Friday, July 16th; or Thursday, July 29th Activities/Theme: The world is changing and we need to do whatever we can to protect our fragile planet and the amazing animals that live here. This unique 1 day camp will open doors for you to help in the conservation of habitats and animals without heading off to the jungle. You will explore ways to reduce, reuse and recycle, both at home and here at the Zoo. Extreme Wildlife
*Ages: 8-10 years When: 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Thursday, July 15th; or Friday, July 30th Activities/Theme: Amaze your friends and family with all of the extreme animal facts you will take home from this 1 day camp! There is nothing ordinary or common here, only the biggest, fastest, strongest and most fantastic and awesome of the animal kingdom.
Zoo Animal Health & Habitat
*Ages: 11-14 years When: 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Tuesday - Thursday, July 20th- 22nd Activities/Theme: Future Veterinarians get your start here! Learn all about the Children's Zoo's approach to animal health and well-being in this fun and educational 3-day camp. Campers will even get a chance to meet with our Zoo veterinary staff. *Ages: 11-14 years When: 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday, August 3rd and 4th Activities/Theme: Enjoy 2 fun filled days learning about animal behaviors and what it takes at the Zoo to keep our animals entertained. Campers will get a chance to help entertain some of our Zoo animals.
